How to connect Amazon Ads and Seller Central to Claude

To connect Amazon Ads and Seller Central to Claude, add Shurq's MCP server (https://mcp.shurq.com/mcp) as a custom connector in Claude, then sign in with your Shurq account and click Allow. Claude can then read your ads, profit, orders and inventory data, and make changes only after you confirm each one.

Before you start

  • A Shurq Pro account. The MCP server is included with Shurq Pro. See pricing.
  • Your Amazon accounts connected to Shurq. Claude only sees the Seller Central and Amazon Ads accounts linked to your Shurq login.
  • A Claude account. Custom connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Free plans are limited to one custom connector.[1]

The server URL is the same everywhere: https://mcp.shurq.com/mcp

Connect in Claude.ai

  1. Open Connectors. In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors.
  2. Add a custom connector. Click "+" and choose "Add custom connector".
  3. Paste the Shurq server URL. Give it a name such as Shurq and paste https://mcp.shurq.com/mcp as the remote MCP server URL. Leave "Advanced settings" empty: Shurq registers Claude automatically, so no client ID or secret is needed. Click "Add".
  4. Sign in to Shurq. Claude sends you to Shurq to sign in. Use the same login you use for Shurq. If the sign-in page does not open, click "Connect" next to Shurq in Customize > Connectors.
  5. Allow access. Shurq shows a screen titled "Claude wants to access your Shurq data" that lists what Claude will be able to do. Review it and click "Allow".
  6. Turn the connector on in a chat. In a conversation, click the "+" button in the lower left, open "Connectors" and make sure Shurq is switched on.

Claude connects to Shurq from Anthropic's cloud, not from your computer, so there is nothing to install.[1]

Team and Enterprise plans

Only an Owner can add a custom connector to a Team or Enterprise organization.[1]

  1. Owner adds the connector. An Owner goes to Organization settings > Connectors, clicks "Add", hovers over "Custom", selects "Web", pastes the Shurq server URL and clicks "Add".
  2. Each member connects. Each member goes to Customize > Connectors, finds Shurq, clicks "Connect" and signs in with their own Shurq login.

Connect in Claude Desktop

Custom connectors work in Claude Desktop the same way. Follow the Claude.ai steps above inside the Desktop app (Customize > Connectors).[1]

You do not need to edit claude_desktop_config.json. That file is for local MCP servers, and Shurq is a remote server.[1]

Connect in Claude Code

  1. Add the server. Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http shurq https://mcp.shurq.com/mcp

Add --scope user to make Shurq available in all your projects instead of only the current one.[3]

  2. Sign in. Start Claude Code, run /mcp, choose shurq and follow the steps in your browser to sign in to Shurq and click Allow.[3]

Using an API key instead

For scripts, or if you want a key that can only read, create a key on the MCP Keys page in Shurq (app.shurq.com/mcp/keys), tick only the scopes you need, and pass it as a header:

claude mcp add --transport http shurq https://mcp.shurq.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_SHURQ_KEY"

Read and write access

Shurq can read your data and, when you ask, make changes in Amazon Ads. Two safeguards sit between a request and your account.

1. Every change is confirmed in the chat

When you ask Claude to change a bid, budget, keyword or campaign, Shurq first returns a preview of exactly what will change. Nothing is sent to Amazon until you confirm it in the conversation. A preview you do not confirm expires after 5 minutes.

2. You choose what a connection is allowed to do

Signing in through Claude (Claude.ai, Claude Desktop, or /mcp in Claude Code) grants read and write access, and Shurq's consent screen says so before you click Allow. An API key only gets the scopes you tick when you create it:

ScopeWhat it allows
readAll read access: dashboards, P&L, ads, Search Query Performance, keyword rank.
write:bidsAdjust Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display bids and budgets.
write:keywordsAdd or pause keywords, and add negative keywords.
write:campaignsCreate, pause and resume campaigns.

Claude also lets you set each connector tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked.[2] Leaving Shurq's write tools on Needs approval adds a second check on top of Shurq's own confirmation.

Example prompts

Questions that only read your data:

  • What was my profit by product last month after Amazon fees, ad spend and cost of goods?
  • Which search terms spent money in the last 14 days without a single order?
  • Compare my Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display ACoS for the last 30 days.
  • Break down my Amazon fees by type for last month.
  • Which products have no cost of goods entered yet?
  • Show FBA inventory for my ten best-selling products.

Requests that change something (Shurq shows a preview first and waits for your confirmation):

  • Lower the bid on the keyword "bamboo cutting board" to $0.85 in my Kitchen Exact campaign.
  • Add "free" as a negative exact keyword to my Kitchen Auto campaign.
  • Pause my Clearance Auto campaign.

Campaign and keyword names above are placeholders. Use your own.

What about ChatGPT?

Shurq has not tested ChatGPT with this server. This guide covers the clients we have tested: Claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude Code. Cursor and other MCP clients that support remote servers can use the same server URL.

Frequently asked questions

Which Claude plans can add the Shurq connector?

Anthropic makes custom connectors available on Claude Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. Free plans are limited to one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds the connector first and then each member connects with their own login.

Can Claude change my bids or campaigns?

Yes, but only after you confirm. When you ask for a change, Shurq returns a preview of exactly what will change, and nothing is sent to Amazon until you confirm it in the chat. A preview you do not confirm expires after 5 minutes. If you connect with an API key instead of signing in, you choose which write permissions that key has.

What does the Shurq MCP server cost?

It is included with Shurq Pro, which costs $200 a month and comes with a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. Your Claude plan is billed separately by Anthropic.

Which Amazon data can Claude see?

Amazon Ads data for Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display wherever Amazon offers them, plus Seller Central data such as profit after fees, orders and inventory, for every Amazon account you have connected to Shurq in any of the 21 Amazon marketplaces it supports. The data syncs hourly.

How do I disconnect Shurq from Claude?

Remove Shurq from Customize > Connectors in Claude. If you connected with an API key, revoke that key on the MCP Keys page in Shurq.
