Amazon Mexico PPC Guide
Amazon Mexico is the Mexican store in Amazon's North America region, reachable from the same unified seller account as the United States and Canada. Learn PPC strategies built around Mexican Spanish search, local tax withholding and the Mexican retail calendar.

Marketplace Overview
Amazon Mexico (amazon.com.mx) sells in Spanish and prices in Mexican pesos. It sits inside the North America unified account alongside the United States and Canada, so a seller already trading on amazon.com can list here from the same Seller Central login rather than registering separately. That shared login is where sellers go wrong. The account is common to the North American stores, but the shopping language, the tax treatment of your proceeds and the retail calendar are not.
Fulfilment is the first decision that changes your advertising maths. You can hold stock in Mexico under local FBA, or serve Mexican orders from United States inventory through Remote Fulfilment with FBA, subject to enrolment and to which of your listings are eligible. Remote fulfilment avoids importing and placing inventory, but it quotes a longer delivery promise than domestic stock. Delivery speed feeds conversion rate, and conversion rate sets revenue per click, so the same bid does not buy the same return through the two lanes. Decide the lane before you set a target ACoS.
Tax then moves the target again. Under Mexico's digital platform tax rules Amazon acts as a withholding agent for sellers within scope, deducting IVA and income tax (ISR) from proceeds and remitting them to the SAT, with the rate applied depending on whether a valid RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes) is on file. Prices shown to shoppers here include IVA, whereas United States prices exclude sales tax at the shelf. Both facts land in the same place: the money Amazon actually pays you is what funds bids, so a break-even ACoS carried across from a United States fee model will read as more headroom than you have. Confirm your own position against Amazon's tax guidance and your accountant rather than assuming the United States model transfers.
PPC Advertising Tips for Amazon Mexico
Rebuild Keywords in Mexican Spanish
Mexican Spanish is not interchangeable with the Spanish used in Amazon's European store. Shoppers here search celular rather than movil, computadora rather than ordenador, refrigerador rather than nevera, jugo rather than zumo, lentes rather than gafas and alberca rather than piscina. Porting a listing across from amazon.es imports the wrong nouns, so your exact match terms never meet the query. Build the root list from Mexican vocabulary first, then let the search term report confirm which forms actually convert.
Cover Accented and Unaccented Spellings
Spanish queries carry accents and the letter n with a tilde, in words such as bano, cafe and nino, yet many shoppers type them bare on a phone keyboard. Add both spellings as separate exact keywords instead of assuming one form collects the other, then read the search term report to see which spelling the paying traffic arrives on before you consolidate bids onto a single term.
Recalculate Break-Even Rather Than Copying the US Target
Break-even ACoS is price less cost of goods less fees, divided by price. In Mexico the shelf price includes IVA, and for sellers within scope of the digital platform rules Amazon withholds tax from proceeds before paying out, so both the denominator and the net differ from amazon.com. Import a United States target ACoS unchanged and you are optimising towards margin that is not there. Settle whether a valid RFC is on file, since that governs the rate Amazon applies, then rebuild the target from Mexican figures.
Plan Against the Mexican Retail Calendar
The national online peak is Hot Sale, run by the AMVO online retail association and usually held in May. El Buen Fin follows in November, timed to the long weekend around the Revolution Day holiday, which is observed on the third Monday of the month. Mother's Day is a fixed 10 May here rather than a moving Sunday, and gift buying carries on past Christmas to Dia de Reyes on 6 January. Statutory year end bonuses, the aguinaldo, are payable to workers before 20 December under the Federal Labour Law. Budget and stock to those dates rather than to the United States calendar.
Set Dayparting on Mexican Local Time
Most of Mexico stopped observing daylight saving on 30 October 2022 and now holds standard time all year, while Baja California and the northern border municipalities still change clocks with the United States. A schedule copied from a US account therefore drifts by an hour for part of the year, and the country spans several time zones, so one national schedule will not suit all of them. Build hour blocks from the marketplace reporting time zone, and set modifiers on hourly revenue per click against the account average rather than on hourly order counts, which mostly tell you when people are awake.
Separate Campaigns by Fulfilment Lane
Remote fulfilment and local Mexican stock quote different delivery promises for the same product, and the delivery promise feeds conversion rate. Blending both into one ad group averages two conversion rates into a single bid that suits neither. Split them so each carries its own target, and confirm inventory cover before pushing top of search on either.

Challenges
- -Listings and keyword lists cannot simply be reused from Amazon's Spanish language European store, because Mexican vocabulary differs
- -For sellers within scope of the digital platform rules, Amazon withholds IVA and ISR from proceeds, at a rate that depends on whether a valid RFC is on file
- -Remote fulfilment from United States stock quotes a longer delivery promise than local inventory, which feeds conversion rate
- -Accent and tilde spelling variants split one shopper query across several keyword forms
- -Importing stock for local FBA brings customs, labelling and returns handling into scope
Opportunities
- +No separate registration if you already hold a North America unified account
- +You can advertise into Mexico from existing United States inventory before committing stock locally
- +Hot Sale in May and El Buen Fin in November give planned peaks outside the United States calendar
- +Most of the country holds standard time all year, so hourly bidding patterns stay stable rather than shifting twice a year
- +Localised keyword coverage is fully within your control, built from the Mexican search term report rather than translated across from another store
