Amazon Singapore PPC Guide
Amazon closed the amazon.sg third-party marketplace in July 2026. The site still serves Singapore shoppers, but the selection now comes from Amazon's US, Japan and Germany stores.
Marketplace: amazon.sg | Currency: SGD
Marketplace Overview
Amazon opened amazon.sg in October 2019 and closed the third-party side of that store in July 2026. New FBA shipments stopped being accepted in May 2026, the Singapore fulfilment centre stopped receiving inbound stock in June, 6 July was the last day sellers could take orders, and the remaining third-party offers were deactivated the day after. Fulfilment by Amazon in Singapore and the local Buy Box went with them, and Amazon advertising on amazon.sg ended at the same time. Sponsored Products only ever serves an offer that is eligible for the Featured Offer, so once the offers were gone there was nothing left for the ad formats to run on.
The domain is still live and Singapore shoppers still buy there. What changed is where the selection comes from. Amazon.sg now runs as an International Store, drawing its catalogue from Amazon US, Amazon Japan and Amazon Germany. Amazon clears customs on the buyer's behalf and shows duties, taxes and fees inside the price on the product page, with an Import Fees Deposit collected at checkout on larger orders. Prices display in Singapore dollars, the site reads in English, and Prime continues.
For a seller this makes Singapore an export question rather than a marketplace entry. There is no Singapore seller account to open and no inventory to place in country. The lever is the listing you already hold in one of the supplying stores and whether it is set to export: FBA Export settings in Seller Central govern which of your FBA products can ship to an overseas address, and category and product restrictions decide what is eligible at all. Spend aimed at Singapore is spent inside those stores' ad accounts, and Amazon reports advertising by store rather than by the shopper's country, so Singapore demand is hard to isolate after the fact.
PPC Advertising Tips for Amazon Singapore
Do not plan an amazon.sg campaign
Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display on amazon.sg ended with the third-party marketplace in July 2026. Any Singapore plan built on a local ad account, a local Buy Box or FBA stock held in Singapore needs rewriting around the stores that now supply the site.
Treat Singapore as export demand, not a target market
Amazon.sg selection is drawn from the US, Japan and Germany catalogues, so there is no Singapore auction left to bid in. The campaign you fund sits in a supplying store's account and competes for that store's shoppers, which means Singapore orders arrive as a by-product of winning at home rather than as something you can bid for directly.
Price for the landed figure, not the shelf price
The product page shows duties, taxes and fees inside the amount, and larger orders also carry an Import Fees Deposit collected at checkout. A Singapore shopper compares that all-in figure against sellers holding stock locally, so a keen list price can still lose on the only number the buyer actually sees.
Check the plug before you chase the demand
Singapore uses the Type G plug with three rectangular pins, the same fitting as the UK, and the mains standard that goes with it. None of the three supplying stores matches it. US and Japan listings differ on both plug and voltage, and Germany matches the voltage but not the plug shape. For anything mains powered, that mismatch lands in the reviews.
Align year-on-year windows to the festival, not the date
Chinese New Year, Hari Raya Puasa and Deepavali all move against the Gregorian calendar, and Hari Raya moves earlier each year. Comparing the same calendar date, or the same weekday a year back, lands on the wrong week for all three. National Day on 9 August is the fixed point. Set the comparison window from the festival itself.
Write the listing for both readerships
Amazon.sg presents in English, so a US listing is readable to a Singapore buyer without translation, but the keywords you buy belong to the supplying store and its own shoppers. Do not assume one spelling convention either: Singapore follows British spelling in official use while American spellings travel with US listings, and everyday product words diverge, so aircon, torchlight, handphone and power point are worth testing against their textbook equivalents.

- Sports and fitness accessories
- Office and stationery
Challenges
- -Third-party selling on amazon.sg ended in July 2026, so there is no local ad account, no local Buy Box and no Singapore inventory to place
- -Singapore demand now arrives inside the US, Japan and Germany stores, where advertising is reported by store rather than by the shopper's country, so it is hard to isolate and attribute
- -None of the three supplying stores is plug matched to Singapore, which rules out or complicates anything mains powered
- -Cross-border delivery times compete against sellers holding stock in Singapore
- -Import duties and taxes are collected at checkout rather than at the door, so the figure a Singapore shopper compares is the tax-inclusive landed price
Opportunities
- +Singapore demand did not disappear with the marketplace, it moved to catalogues you may already hold in the US, Japan or Germany
- +English is the shopping language on amazon.sg, so a US listing is readable to a Singapore buyer without translation
- +Amazon clears customs and shows the landed amount in the price, so the checkout friction that usually costs cross-border conversion is handled by the store rather than by you
- +Export eligibility is a settings change on a listing you already run, not a new marketplace registration and a new inventory placement
